Settling into classes in London, enjoying studies and cinema.

Week 3 (Go Watch Nickel Boys, Like Right Now)

2nd week of classes and 3rd week in London is over and I’m beginning to feel some growing pains… The process of settling into my class schedule and being up on campus has taken up some serious real estate from my leisure time. You might notice that since the first week, there haven’t been as many pictures of London, that is because I have not gone outside much! I will say, as a bit of a silver lining, I am REALLY enjoying my classes so far. For each “module”, I have 1 meeting per week. Each meeting is structured into 2 hours of lecture and 1 hour of seminar. This way, I feel like I have the opportunity to practically apply all of the information I’m acquiring in my textbook reading and lecture notes.

That being said, I did have to make my weekly getaway to the cinema. This week I went to Brixton to watch “Nickel Boys” and it was PHENOMENAL. Please go watch this movie in theatres if you still can or stream it when it is available, I read the book a while back and the film did not disappoint. After the movie, while I was in Brixton, I was able to walk around and take some time to appreciate the fact that I was in London. I took some pictures while I was there that I’ll leave below!

A slightly obstructed aerial shot of Holloway Road!
It’s been extremely telling hearing how Londoners view America…
Brixton, you haven’t seen the last of me…
Dopest theater I’ve been to so far! Shoutout to The Ritzy
I got too many pics of Brixton so I’m sharing them all!
STAY IN PEACE.
Malcom lives on!
Some art I thought was cool while taking the tube.
I gotta figure out what this mirror is called…
These delicacies will soon be mine…
First time trying shawarma, it did NOT disappoint.
